The last thing on Dons mind was meeting a medium underground talking about witchcraft. Miles underground and through small tunnels we reached the markings and it was worth it.

Looking down the black hole, you'd be forgiven if you turned back. Don was told to go underground and meet a medium called Ralph "Sure he's your guide, oh! yes, he's never been down there...
Ralph took Don on a journey of discovery into the past and beyond, for there they were in important caves used for tunneling stone used in castles and magnificant homes around the Uk. The marks were clear and to the point, you're protected and yet there are warnings as well.

The marks set onto passage walls clearly showed an intellengce and a route through to an inner chamber. Explaining to Don about witchcraft, mediumship and natural magic it becomes obvious that these marks formed a protection against all outsiders. A ceromony had to have taken place within these catacombs as the markings started to vary.
Quickly it was explained that some of the marks resemble very early pagan marks. Not shown on the program are the marks laid by witch's for the mother earth set in a fashion to show borth or rebirth. A never ending love to show a wanting, it was also explained that these marks had a bigger bearing on proceedings further into the cave. In fact mumified horses/ponies were left here not because they ahd die, but form a modern day ritual.

Spending 3 hours descending the catacombs below, you realise how far the witch's coven had to be to be kept secret. To see the animals left and marks around you got the feeling of the aura created by these marks etc.
On the way down Ralph's medium side appeared explaining the energies surrounding them here. "There are at least five men buried here somewere as they are now following us, ones called Richard....pottcher or something similar". At that moment a rock falls and a whistle can be heard.
"It's like a rabbit warren and the men hated the dampness and the food couldn't be eaten properly for the dust, this man's broken the end of his finger off by trapping it between the stones". As if by magic the camera man stubs his finger. These underground mines showed them what is possible out of the eyes of others and why the witch's had to delve deep into the countryside.
